Slush vs. Sickness...why are we cancelling? (Because alas, we are)

It's hard to say. On the one hand, the weather is going to be that sort of delightful wintery mix which will span pretty much our entire time in Blackstone. Many of you will have to drive through much worse (actual accumulating snow) before you arrive in the slush-zone that is the Rhode Island border. It certainly will not be pleasant.

On the other hand, a rather overwhelming number of you have said that sickness is running rampant through your homes, and while various ones and twos of you could stay home while the healthier come in, we are talking at least half of families that have some illness going on.

SO, you can decide. Pick which one you like best! We are cancelling because of foul weather. OR We are cancelling because of unbridled illness in our community.

What does this mean?

  1. For the Charlotte Mason Elementary program, enjoy the day and try to get well!

  2. For the Junior High Program: Botany will not be Zooming, but feel free to enjoy some extra note booking time. For Pre-Algebra, History and Literature, watch for an email from your teachers. If they plan to Zoom, they will send you a link. Classes, if they meet to Zoom, will meet during normal class times.

  3. For the High School Program: Check email regularly (sorry!) for either a Zoom link to meet during your normal class times and/or assignments from your teachers. (We know that most are planning to Zoom at the normal time.)

  4. LCC ZOOM POLICY: Cameras on (unless you have permission because of illness to leave yours off), no background changing.

Thank you for bearing with us as we make tricky decisions like this. At least this time around, even if the sun comes out tomorrow we will have better participation numbers over Zoom, where those on the edge of health can still listen in from their sickbeds!

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW THAT YOUR FAMILY 'GOT IT' SO WE DON'T WORRY.

Love to all, and Godspeed our community to health over the weekend!
